C-TECC is partnering with Nemours Hospital for Children to develop and implement an innovative program that trains pediatric primary care nursing fellows in foundational mental and behavioral health interventions and assessment tools. This collaboration addresses a critical need in pediatric healthcare: the integration of mental health expertise into primary care settings. By equipping nurses with the skills and knowledge to identify, assess, and intervene in mental and behavioral health issues, the project improves access to early detection and intervention for children experiencing mental/behavioral health challenges. Early intervention can mitigate the impact of mental health issues, support better health outcomes, and reduce the burden on specialized mental health services. Through this partnership, C-TECC and Nemours Hospital for Children are making a significant contribution to the overall health and resilience of the pediatric population. This work is generously funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
